Mason General Hospital History Mason General Hospital is one of the largest public employers in Mason County. It was first built in 1968 thanks to the generous support of the residents of Mason County. An additional 29,000 square feet were added in 1992, along with many major improvements. The hospital is part of Public Hospital District No.1 which consists of Mason General Hospital, MGH Ankle and Foot, MGH Eye Clinic, Oakland Bay Pediatrics, MGH Surgery Clinic, Mountain View Women's Health Clinic, MGH Shelton Orthopedics, and Shelton Family Medicine. MGH is a complete, full-service medical facility which includes an emergency department that is staffed by board qualified/certified emergency services physicians and an intensive care unit that extends privacy to the most critical patients. Three major surgery suites are complemented by two procedure rooms and an extensive laparoscopic surgery program.
