Providence St. Joseph's Hospital History

Founded by the Dominican Sisters, Providence St. Joseph's Hospital has served the residents of Chewelah and Stevens County since 1929. St. Joseph's Hospital has 25 acute care beds and 40 long-term care beds, with primary and OB/GYN physicians available.

Patients benefit from the convenience of a home-town hospital that offers physicial therapy, ambulatory surgery, and labor and delivery services.

As a member of Providence Health and Services, Saint Joseph is one of 12 ministries in Eastern Washington, who together provide our region with a full continuum of medical care services. These range from health and skilled nursing care to the region's most advanced hospital care.
